The communities we serve are great places to live and work, and we are committed to enhancing the lifestyles and opportunities they offer.

All members of our Board of Directors live in the communities we serve. With our Directors’ support, we ensure that all business decisions represent our communities’ best interests. Profitability will not precede service – that’s our commitment to our communities.

We also enthusiastically support our communities in many other ways:

• VERIDIAN’s commitment to good corporate citizenship in the community is expressed through annual donations to community events and charities, including the United Way and hospital foundations.
   
• We support youth throughout our service areas by providing high schools with education bursaries to assist students in pursuing higher education in electrical engineering or computer science.
   
• Our corporate commitment to the communities we serve is shared by our employees, whose own United Way campaign raised more than $45,000 in 2011. Almost 50 percent of VERIDIAN employees contribute to the United Way through the company's payroll deduction program. Since Veridian's inception in 1999, nearly $366,000 has been raised for the United Way – a testament to the company's commitment to helping those in need and building strong communities.
   
• VERIDIAN is committed to promoting safety in our communities. An innovative safety education program is offered free to elementary schools in our service area. More than 15,000 students learn about electricity through this initiative each year.
