Join the more than 170,000 people across Ontario that have already signed up for peaksaver and help protect the environment for future generations.
Joining the peaksaver program means you can help reduce the demand for electricity in your community. And you’ll feel great knowing you’re doing something good for the environment.
It’s no sweat to participate. Just sign up to allow Veridian to cycle down your air conditioning temporarily. It will help reduce the strain on the electricity system on summer days when electricity use is at its peak.
We’ll only do it when absolutely necessary (usually between 12 p.m. and 10 p.m. on weekdays; never on weekends or holidays).
When you sign up for peaksaver, a programmable thermostat will be installed that allows us to send a wireless signal to cycle down your air conditioner. You probably won’t notice the difference in the comfort level or temperature.
Once we set your schedule, the thermostat will automatically adjust the temperature to reduce energy consumption during the times when you’re not there. You can even change your settings remotely via the Internet.
Business customers are eligible if your air conditioner is approximately the same size as those used by residential customers. If you have your landlord or property manager's approval to participate, have them contact us to enroll in the program. We’ll do all the work at no expense to you. In fact, you’ll even receive $25 for participating in the program.
