Report a Meter Reading

Occasionally we are unable to read customers' meters due to restricted access. If our meter readers cannot obtain a reading, a card will be left at your door.

Why submit my reading?
Continued estimated readings result in over or under billing. Then, when an reading is finally obtained, it could surprise you with an unusually high bill.

How do I read my meter?
Locate your electricity meter. It is a round, grey metal device with a domed glass front and is usually located in your basement, in your backyard or on the side of your home.

Follow the instructions on the card to obtain your own reading.

Some of the dials on the meter turn clockwise and some counter-clockwise. Read your meter from left to right, and record the placement of the pointer on each dial. If the pointer is between two numbers, record the lower number. The only exception is if the pointer is between 0 and 9 – in this case record number 9.

How can I submit my reading?

Submit your Meter Reading online!

You can also call our office within 48 hours of receiving the card to submit the reading through our Automated Information Services Line, or by speaking to a Customer Care Representative. Call 905-420-8440, Ext. 5300 from Ajax and Pickering, 705-687-2321 from Gravenhurst and 1-888-420-0070, Ext. 5300 from all other service areas.
